Partners invest EUR 3 mln in restoration of Ukrainian culture – Berezhna

Denmark, the Netherlands, Poland and the United Kingdom are investing EUR 3 million in the newly established Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund (UCHF), Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy of Ukraine – Minister of Culture of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna said on Tuesday.

"The Netherlands announced a contribution of EUR 1 million, Poland - EUR 500,000, and the United Kingdom – GBP 200,000 [EUR 228,000]. Also, DKK 10 million [EUR 1.34 million] will be provided by Denmark to the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund. The support will be an important step in strengthening international solidarity in the field of culture and preserving Ukrainian identity in times of war," the press release of the Ministry of Culture says.

As reported, on November 3, the Informal Meeting of EU Ministers of Culture and Media kicked off in Copenhagen, taking place within the framework of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU under the theme "Democratic Resilience through Culture and Media." This time, the regular meeting of ministers of culture within the framework of the Danish Presidency was devoted exclusively to the topic of preserving Ukrainian culture and the need for coordinated efforts to launch the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund.
