More than 70% of Ukrainians support ban on activities of UOC (MP), all Russia-controlled churches in Ukraine – poll

More than 70% of Ukrainians fully or rather support the law banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) and other churches controlled by the aggressor state throughout Ukraine, 15% of respondents do not support this law.

This is stated in the results of the study "Ukrainians in Wartime: Pride, Remembrance, Victory," conducted by the Institute of Social and Political Psychology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in cooperation with the Association of Political Psychologists of Ukraine and presented at a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine agency on Friday.

As noted in the results of the study, regional differences on this issue are not as pronounced as differences among supporters of different confessions. The largest share of supporters of the aforementioned decision is among supporters of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (87.1%) and the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (82.8%), the smallest - among believers of the UOC (MP). Among supporters of other confessions or those who do not belong to any confession, every fifth is indifferent on this issue.

The survey was conducted on September 17–28 using face-to-face interviews with 1,157 adult respondents in all regions controlled by Ukraine. The sampling error is 3.2%.
