Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Iryna Borovets has held a meeting with the Brazilian parliamentary delegation, which arrived in Ukraine.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegation includes the First Vice President of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and National Defense, General Girão, and a member of the aforementioned Commission, Federal Deputy Alfredo Gaspar.

"I am glad to see you in Ukraine, where you can see the state of affairs firsthand. Such trips make it possible to understand the scale of everything our country is going through because of the full-scale invasion of Russia. It is important that we can also discuss not only the support that Ukraine needs because of the war, but also other important areas of cooperation at all levels," Borovets said.

She explained Ukraine's vision of ending the Russian aggression against our state. The Deputy Minister stressed that peace initiatives to end the war should offer ways to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.

"I want to emphasize that Ukraine will accept only such a peace plan for the end of the war, which guarantees respect for the sovereignty of our country and territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders," she said.

During the meeting, Brazilian parliamentarians expressed support for the Ukrainian people and condemned Russia's violation of human rights and the commission of war crimes.

During the meeting, the sides also discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular the importance of intensifying contacts at high and top levels and further developing inter-parliamentary dialogue. They also discussed mutual interest in reviving bilateral trade and restoring trade turnover between Ukraine and Brazil at the pre-war level.
