Ukraine’s MFA condemns Russian attack, which results in damage to Vatican Embassy

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Heorhiy Tykhy condemned another hostile attack, which resulted in damage to the Vatican Embassy in Ukraine.
As reported by an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, he stated this at a briefing in Kyiv on Friday.
"During the extreme shelling, diplomatic institutions were also damaged. The premises of the Apostolic Nunciature, that is, the Embassy of the Holy See in Ukraine, were damaged. We express solidarity with our fellow diplomats of the Holy See and Apostolic Nuncio Visvaldas Kulbokas," the spokesman said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the attacks on diplomatic missions grossly violate the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961, which states the inviolability of diplomatic missions and their personnel.
Tykhy also noted that Ukrainian diplomacy informs all partners in detail about the attacks and their consequences.
Earlier, Vatican News wrote that the nuncio (ambassador) of the Holy See in Ukraine, Archbishop Visvaldas Kulbokas, reported that during the night attack by Russia on Kyiv, the Vatican embassy in Kyiv suffered minor damage.
