Ukraine, UAE aim to strengthen cooperation and long-term partnership

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha held talks at the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry with Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates.

"The parties discussed the state and prospects for the development of Ukrainian-Emirati cooperation in the political, economic, humanitarian and technological spheres," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a Telegram message on Saturday.

Joint initiatives in the field of humanitarian aid, energy sustainability and the restoration of Ukraine’s infrastructure with the support of Emirati partners were important topics of the talks.

"Special attention was paid to the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between Ukraine and the UAE, which opens up new opportunities for expanding trade, investment and innovative cooperation. The parties also discussed preparations for the Fourth Meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Emirati Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, scheduled for early 2026," the report said.

For her part, Minister of State Reem Al Hashimy confirmed the UAE’s readiness to further strengthen cooperation with Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of dialogue, partnership and long-term cooperation between the two countries.

Sybiha briefed on the situation on the battlefield, Russian shelling and Ukraine’s peace efforts. He expressed gratitude to the UAE for its support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as significant humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian people since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
