Shmyhal: Ukrzaliznytsia restores over 700 km of tracks in 2024

In 2024, Ukrainian railway workers restored over 700 km of tracks destroyed by the enemy, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported.

"Railway workers not only ensure the movement of passengers and goods, but also restore everything that the enemy destroyed. This year alone, over 700 km of tracks have been restored," the government portal website reports.

In addition, it is reported that rolling stock is being repaired, new services and opportunities are being introduced for passengers.

"We are implementing ambitious plans for integration into the European railway space," the prime minister added.

As the head of government noted, on the occasion of Railwayman's Day, he got acquainted with the new Ukrzaliznytsia cars. One of them was repaired at the expense of the enterprise, the second, a children's car, was created in cooperation with UNICEF.

Shmyhal inspected a new modern car manufactured by Kriukov Car Building Works by order of the state.

"It is important that Ukrainian companies receive more such orders, because this supports the Ukrainian economy," the prime minister emphasized.

Shmyhal presented certificates of honor to Ukrainian railway workers.

"Railways are our arteries of life, which connect Ukraine from west to east, from south to north... Congratulations on your professional holiday and thank you for everything you do for our resilience and victory," Shmyhal said.
