Zelenskyy: Ukraine has identified $2 billion gas supply alternative

Ukraine has agreements on gas supplies worth $2 billion in the event of a difficult situation, and some of the tranches have already been found, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.

"Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko has positive agreements with Slovakia. The agreements between Prime Minister Svyrydenko and Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk with energy companies in America are also positive. We understand where to get gas worth about $2 billion. If we need it," Zelenskyy said during a conversation with journalists on Sunday.

The President explained that Norway has allocated a grant of $100 million and will also allocate another January tranche. Several other countries also have corresponding grants, and there is an agreement with Ukrainian banks.

"There is an agreement regarding American LNG: if we want, it will come from Poland, the Polish terminal. We can also take additional gas from Greece, we have agreed with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. There is also an understanding with other countries, there are agreements. There is also one with Azerbaijan," Zelenskyy said.
