Bodies of 38 Russian servicemen killed in Ukraine returned to Russia
With the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross, 38 bodies of Russian servicemen killed in Ukraine have been returned to Russia as part of repatriation, according to a statement of the I Want to Live project of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
"These are the bodies and remains collected by Ukrainian search groups in the area of the settlements of Robotyne, Ocheretyne, Umanske, Kysylivka, Andriivka, and other territories of Zaporizhia, Kherson, Donetsk and Kharkiv regions," according to the Telegram channel's statement.
It is indicated that Ukraine is only conducting a preliminary identification of the found bodies and remains, which is done on the basis of documents, tokens, name patches, tattoos, etc. After the body is returned to Russia, relatives must undergo DNA testing.
