Russian forces most highly active on Pokrovsk, Kurakhove axes – AFU General Staff
The Russian occupation forces do not give up their attempts to advance deep into the territory of Ukraine, using their superiority in manpower and air support, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) has said in a report on the frontline situation since midnight.
"By now, the number of combat clashes has increased to 58. The hottest now are the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions," it said on Facebook.
On the Pokrovsk axis, the enemy forces carried out 16 assaults, trying to push the Ukrainian defense forces out of the Vozdvyzhenka, Zelene Pole, Novooleksandrivka, Hrodivka, Novotroyitske, Novohrodivka, Selidove, and Mykhailivka areas. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught. Thirteen enemy assaults have been repelled and three battles are still ongoing.
On the Kurakhove axis, the occupiers attacked Ukrainian positions 14 times, trying to advance near Kostiantynivka, Ukrainsk, and Heorhiyivka. Eight battles are still ongoing.
The invaders also launched nine attacks on the Lyman axis, where three battles are still ongoing, and six attacks on the Kupyansk axis, where the fighting is still ongoing near Synkivka.
