URCS transfers generators to specialized institutions of Social Policy Ministry
The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) transferred generators to specialized institutions of the Ministry of Social Policy.
"As part of the cooperation between the Ukrainian Red Cross Society and the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, generators were transferred to the ministry's institutions... This will improve the level of safety and comfort in institutions providing social services," the URCS reported on Facebook on Wednesday.
Nine generators with a capacity of 15 to 45 kVA were transferred to Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia, Poltava, and Kyiv regions. It was to these regions that institutions where people affected by the war were relocated from Kramatorsk.
"Support for social institutions... in this difficult time is a priority of our work. We are currently actively preparing for the winter period and possible power outages, providing humanitarian aid in the form of generators, including to medical and educational institutions of the country. We strive to ensure that Ukrainians, despite everything, have access to social and medical services," said Maksym Dotsenko, Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.
According to Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovych, joint work with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society is aimed at ensuring stable support for institutions carrying out a social mission.
"Russian troops attack Ukraine's energy infrastructure every day. However, despite the war, people must receive the necessary support at the proper level without interruption. That is why these generators are very important to us," Zholnovych noted.
As part of the recently signed memorandum, the parties are working on a number of social programs. In particular, the URCS is implementing a pilot project in one of the communities of Kherson region to introduce a comprehensive social service for the formation of resilience and plans to create a Resilience Center - a space where the population will be able to receive social services.
