Kyivteploenergo completes 2024 repair program to prepare boiler houses for winter
Kyivteploenergo municipal enterprise (KTE) has completed the 2024 repair program to prepare the capital's boiler houses for the start of the heating season.
"Its (the program) main goal is to ensure trouble-free operation of heat sources in winter, because they generally produce up to 50% of the heat for Kyiv," the company reported on its Telegram channel on Thursday.
As part of the preparatory work for the autumn-winter period of 2024-2025, power engineers have prepared 160 boiler houses and heating stations in all areas of the capital.
As noted by KTE, the equipment has passed tests and routine maintenance and is ready to supply heat to homes and social institutions.
Power engineers performed work of varying degrees of complexity: repair of boilers, combustion systems, pumps, gas and heat pipelines, and other equipment through which heat is produced.
The most extensive work was carried out on large heat sources in the form of major repairs of boilers with a complete replacement of heating surfaces - the capacity of one such boiler is enough to provide heat to an entire microdistrict at once.
According to Kyivteploenergo, all boiler houses in the city, where the capacity allows, are already equipped with generators for uninterrupted operation. For work in winter, the number of mobile boiler houses will also be significantly increased - we are talking about more than 50 units.
"The capital's energy system is now in the process of functional and structural strengthening: the city is working to supplement it with new cogeneration units and gas turbines, and Kyiv is cooperating with European manufacturers in this direction," KTE emphasized.
