Air Defense eliminates 22 of 56 attack UAVs
Air Defense eliminated 22 of 56 Russian strike drones that attacked Ukraine on Thursday night, the Ukrainian Air Force Command reports.
"As a result of the air battle, 22 enemy UAVs were shot down in Sumy, Kyiv, Poltava, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Odesa and Ternopil regions," the report says.
It is noted that aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the attack.
The command reported that on the night of Thursday, in particular from 19.30 on Wednesday to 05.00, the enemy struck Ukraine with a guided X-59 air missile from the airspace of Kursk region, as well as 56 strike UAVs and drones of an unknown type (Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk regions, Russia).
Meanwhile, two drones left the airspace in the direction of Belarus, 27 strike UAVs and drones of an unknown type were lost as a result of active counteraction by the Defense Forces' electronic warfare.
At the same time, however, five strike UAV hits on infrastructure facilities in frontline areas were recorded.
