Defense forces shoot down 42 Russian UAVs overnight – Ukrainian Air Force

On the night of October 22, 2024, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with Shahed-type UAVs and drones of an unknown type. In total, 60 enemy UAVs were detected in Ukrainian airspace during the night, the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

"The destruction of 42 enemy UAVs in Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kyiv, Kherson and Kharkiv regions has been confirmed. Most of the attack UAVs were shot down in Sumy region. Unfortunately, as a result of the attack, there are dead and injured in the region, we express our condolences to their families," the message on the Telegram channel says.

In addition, ten Russian drones were lost. One UAV flew to Belarus, three more - back to Russia.

One enemy UAV remains in the airspace of Ukraine.

The air attack is repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Armed Forces and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
