Defense Forces shoot down 39 of 71 enemy drones that attacked Ukraine on Friday evening and Saturday
The Ukrainian Air Force reported on Saturday the destruction of 39 enemy UAVs in Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Sumy and Poltava regions out of 71 that attacked Ukraine, 21 drones were locally lost, 5 UAVs returned to the Russian Federation.
"On the night of November 2, 2024 (from 19:00 on November 1), the enemy launched a strike with a Kh-31P guided missile from the airspace of Belgorod region and 71 Shaheds and unidentified drones from the directions of Orel, Kursk - the Russian Federation," the report on Telegram says.
The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
"As of 11:00, the downing of 39 enemy UAVs in Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Sumy and Poltava regions has been confirmed. Some 21 drones were lost locally, five UAVs returned to Russia. There are about five attack UAVs in the air. Combat operations continue! Information is being clarified and updated," the report says.
According to preliminary data, because of the Russian attack, apartment buildings and private houses in Sumy, Poltava, Kyiv and Odesa regions were damaged due to falling debris, the report also says.
