Kyivstar, Come Back Alive foundation collect over UAH 50 mln for demining

The Kyivstar largest Ukrainian mobile operator and one of the largest volunteer foundations "Come Back Alive" have accumulated UAH 54.8 million as part of the fundraising campaign for demining of Ukrainian territories "We Live Here 2.0."

"Demining of territories remains a critical issue for the restoration of safe life in Ukraine. We plan to cover the urgent needs of sapper units in the amount of UAH 100 million, providing them with modern Ukrainian equipment," Director of the Come Back Alive foundation Taras Chmut said in the press release on Tuesday.

Kyivstar said some UAH 17.8 million of the specified amount was collected from subscribers who subscribed to the charitable Superpower "Help for the Armed Forces of Ukraine" or an SMS subscription.

In order to support the donation, the mobile operator itself transferred UAH 30 million of its own funds.

"We are grateful to everyone who supported the initiative and contributed to demining the country, our goal is UAH 100 million. We encourage all those who are not indifferent to join the initiative and support the sappers," Kyivstar CEO Oleksandr Komarov said.

It is noted that the collected funds will be used to provide the sappers of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with robotic complexes of Ukrainian manufacture, transport and communications. will ensure remote demining by explosions.

According to him, the collection includes the transfer of 16 Tarhan reconnaissance and logistics robotic systems (64 vehicles), eight Termit robotic systems (32 vehicles), some 28 vehicles, four maintenance workshops, some 28 electronic warfare vehicles, 100 radio stations of various types, one Vampire drone with thermal imaging cameras for remote demining, as well as 96 drones of various types to increase the awareness of sappers and related equipment. It is specified that the first Ukrainian super-app for dog and cat owners, Bubibo, has also joined the collection, collecting UAH 1 million as part of the project and attracting cats and dogs to support sappers.
