Tusk: Warsaw ready to work with Ukraine to obtain full security guarantees after end of hostilities

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced his readiness to work with Ukraine to obtain full security guarantees after the end of hostilities.
"It is obvious to me that security guarantees for Ukraine after the end of hostilities must be serious. There is no better form of full security guarantee for Ukraine than NATO membership. But we know that at the moment this is controversial and emotional in some countries, and this does not depend solely on the will of President Zelenskyy or my support," Tusk said at a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Warsaw on Wednesday.
However, he said the issue of security guarantees for Ukraine from NATO in the event of a cessation of hostilities remains open and "very necessary." "Our job today should not be to announce in the media that we will or will not send soldiers, but to convince all NATO partners, Europe and the United States to be jointly ready to provide a stable mechanism that guarantees security and the preservation of the agreement if the war between Russia and Ukraine ends," the Prime Minister said.
He said he is ready to work together with President Zelenskyy to obtain full security guarantees after the end of hostilities.
"And then, of course, Poland will in any case be part of these guarantees as a NATO member," he said.
