Some 30% of repair work completed in Center for Pediatric Cardiology damaged by Russian attack – URCS

Some 30% of the repair work has been completed in the building of the Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, damaged by a Russian missile strike on Kyiv in the summer of 2024, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS), which, together with foreign partners, is participating in the restoration of the institution, reported.
"Recently, representatives of the Canadian Red Cross, one of the partners with whose financial support the restoration work is being carried out, payed a monitoring visit to the cardiology center," the URCS noted on Facebook.
According to Askar Umarbekov, head of the European region of the Canadian Red Cross, his organization has contributed to the reconstruction and repair work of the cardiology center.
"Through the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, we invested CAD 500,000 for the repair work," Umarbekov emphasized.
The Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery is a unique medical institution not only for Ukraine, but also for Europe. The center is able to provide assistance to children with congenital heart defects from the first minutes of life. Before being damaged by the Russian massive missile attack on Kyiv (July 8, 2024), the center received about 1,000 children every year.
