Lawyer from Dnipro holding senior positions in law enforcement agency purchases 16 apartments in Lviv – SBI

The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has reported suspicions against a lawyer from Dnipro who, while holding senior positions in a law enforcement agency, acquired 16 "unexplained" apartments in the center of Lviv and other assets, the SBI reports.
In a message on the Telegram channel on Tuesday, the SBI informs that employees of the Bureau, in cooperation with the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP), reported suspicions against a lawyer who was the deputy head of a law enforcement agency in different years, first in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and later in the Kirovohrad region.
"During his service, he became the owner of assets worth over UAH 33 million, including 16 apartments in the center of Lviv, two apartments and two parking spaces in a new building in Dnipro, as well as two cars. He registered all the assets in the names of close people - his wife, mother, mother-in-law and other relatives," the message says.
According to the department, in order to legalize the property, the ex-law enforcement officer organized a deal using a number of fake loan agreements.
"The borrowers under the fake agreements were his close relatives, and the lenders were persons controlled by the defendant who did not have sufficient official income to provide loans for such amounts," the SBI notes.
