Over 5,000 people receive training in psychological first aid within URCS, EU4Health project
Over 5,000 people have been trained in psychological first aid within the initiative of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) and EU4Health.
"In Ukraine, over 5,000 people have mastered the skills of providing psychological first aid thanks to the joint project of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, the European Union and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies — EU4Health," the Communications and Marketing Department of the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society reported.
Among those who have been trained: educators, doctors, social workers and other specialists who work daily with people who have experienced crisis events, as well as employees and volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society. Almost 400 teachers and 800 medical workers received training in psychological first aid adapted to children's age.
About 2,500 employees and volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society received psychosocial support individually or in team sessions. Providing psychosocial support to members of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society team is extremely important, because you can help others effectively only when you also care about your own well-being.
Thanks to the project, the infrastructure of psychosocial support has been developed. Hotlines have been opened and modernized in Lviv, Kharkiv and Mykolaiv, which have already provided support to almost 9,000 people. Since March 2025, four more hotlines have been operating in a pilot format in other regions of Ukraine.
