Ukraine should continue to scale up the production of drone interceptors, this is a decision that will allow us to defend ourselves from massive Russian attacks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.

"Overnight, Russia launched more than 420 drones, more than 20 missiles, including ballistic missiles. There were waves of attacks all night and lasted until morning. In the morning, there were again Shahed UAVs launched against targets in Kharkiv region. During the shelling, mobile fire groups, army aviation, electronic warfare, Air Force soldiers, and interceptor drones worked. Many hits, but, unfortunately, not all. We must continue to scale up interceptors. This is a decision that will allow us to defend ourselves from massive attacks," Zelenskyy said on Telegram on Monday.

Zelenskyy said Russian shelling caused damage in Kyiv and Kyiv region, in Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk regions, and there were downings of attack drones in Sumy, Khmelnytsky, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Poltava, and Kherson regions.

"Russian strikes are always against humanity: a kindergarten, residential buildings, and other civilian infrastructure were burned in Kyiv. There is destruction of ordinary houses in Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and the region," the President emphasized.

He also added that as a result of the attacks, two people died and 15 were injured, including a 12-year-old boy.

"I am grateful to everyone who is working in Ukraine and with Ukraine now to protect life - to increase weapons production, strengthen our air defense - and who continues to work on sanctions. Only real pressure on Russia can stop this aggression," Zelenskyy said.

According to the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of July 21, the Russian invaders attacked the territory of Ukraine with 450 air attack vehicles, including 426 Shahed strike UAVs and various types of simulator drones. In addition, the Russians used five Kh-47 M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, four Kalibr cruise missiles, one Iskander-K cruise missile, and 14 Kh-101 cruise missiles.
