Stefanchuk sends bill restricting NABU and SAPO independence to president for signature
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, has signed a bill that limits the independence of the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) and sent it to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for signature.
This is evidenced by the card of the bill on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
As reported, the Verkhovna Rada limited the independence of the NABU and the SAPO.
The corresponding bill No. 12414 on amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code regarding the features of the pre-trial investigation of criminal offenses related to the disappearance of missing persons under special circumstances under martial law was voted for in the second reading and in total by 263 people's deputies at the plenary session of the parliament on Tuesday.
