Stefanchuk-Metsola phone talk: decisions reached without Ukraine's participation won’t contribute to establishment of just peace
Agreements reached without Ukraine's participation will not contribute to the establishment of a fair peace, believe Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk and European Parliament President Roberta Metsola.
"I have had a telephone conversation with the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola. We agreed that Europe and European institutions should be active participants in the process of ending the war and achieving a fair and sustainable peace. It is our common conviction that any decisions taken without Ukraine's participation will be decisions against peace. Peace must be fair," Stefanchuk wrote on his Facebook page on Monday.
According to Stefanchuk, in a conversation with Metsola, he emphasized that Ukraine expects to increase sanction pressure on the aggressor - the Russian Federation, maintain and increase military and financial assistance to Ukraine, as well as maximum assistance to Ukraine's integration into the EU.
"We will continue to work together for a just peace and security in Ukraine and Europe," the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada noted.
