Kyiv Deputy Mayor Volodymyr Prokopiv has been released from round-the-clock house arrest by court order, Prokopiv announced on Facebook.

"Today, by court decision, the 24-hour house arrest and electronic bracelet have been removed, and that's good news. Spending almost four months at home with this 'thing' was hardly a pleasant period in life – especially since I have committed no crimes," Prokopiv wrote on Tuesday.

He added that his goal remains to have all suspicions and charges against him dropped.

As reported earlier, on April 17, the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine served Prokopiv – a deputy to Kyiv Mayor Klitschko – with a notice of suspicion, law enforcement sources told Interfax-Ukraine. He is suspected of organizing a scheme to smuggle draft-eligible men across the state border.

Notably, in October 2024, he was already embroiled in a corruption scandal when numerous commercial and residential properties of questionable origin were found to be owned by his family.

On April 22, a court placed Prokopiv under 24-hour house arrest for two months, requiring him to wear an electronic monitoring device.
