The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) is providing assistance on the ground in areas affected by Russian airstrikes in Zaporizhia and Sumy.

"Zaporizhia. A Ukrainian Red Cross rapid response team in Zaporizhia region worked at the site of efforts to eliminate the aftermath of the attack on the city. Volunteers administered first aid to two wounded people and offered initial psychological support to victims and their families," the URCS said Monday on Facebook.

In addition, volunteers, together with Ukraine's State Emergency Service (SES) rescuers, retrieved the body of a deceased person from under the rubble.

Volunteers from the URC rapid response unit in Sumy region also joined efforts after a Russian drone attack on Sumy. They quickly arrived at the strike site and provided first aid to a casualty.

At present, the URCS's Sumy regional organization is distributing drinking water, as well as OSB boards and tarpaulins to residents of damaged homes for temporary repairs.

Ukrainian Red Cross Society volunteers are also providing psychological assistance and holding mine-awareness briefings to warn and protect people from explosive hazards.

As reported, on Monday morning the Russian army struck Zaporizhia, dropping at least five aerial bombs on the city. Three civilians were killed in the Russian attack, and 25 residential buildings were damaged.

In Sumy, a Russian drone strike injured one person and damaged industrial facilities and an educational institution; windows, balcony units, and frames in apartment buildings were also damaged.
