Generals Syrsky, Donahue discuss further cooperation in air defense, long-range strike means

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky and Commander of the Ground Forces of the U.S. Armed Forces in Europe and Africa, Commander of the NATO Land Command Christopher Donahue discussed continued cooperation with the U.S. partners, mainly air defense and long-range strike means.
"Held another conversation in the format of a video conference with Commander of the Ground Forces of the U.S. Armed Forces in Europe and Africa, Commander of the NATO Land Command General Christopher Donahue. He spoke about the situation on the frontline, which remains difficult," Syrsky said in the Telegram channel on Tuesday.
The AFU commander-in-chief told his U.S. colleague that "despite the numerical superiority of the enemy and the high concentration of its firepower in certain areas of the front, he is unable to turn the situation in his favor. The skillful maneuvering and counterattack actions of the Ukrainian units thwarted the Russians' offensive plans in the spring-summer campaign."
Syrsky said the Russian aggressor does not stop launching missile and air strikes on critical facilities of the economy and military and industrial complex of our country, strikes at residential buildings, and continues terror against the civilian population.
"To protect our people, our enterprises and territories, Ukraine needs more effective air defense, missiles, electronic warfare and other modern weapons systems. We are working to continue cooperation with the U.S. partners to support the capabilities of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the interests of the security of the entire Euro-Atlantic space. Air defense and long-range strike capabilities are our top priority," Syrsky said.
"Once again, I sincerely thank General Christopher Donahue, the government and people of the United States for their steadfast support for Ukraine and military assistance, in particular for the planned transfer of weapons, military equipment and ammunition within the framework of the PURL packages for September and October 2025," Syrsky said.
