7 more countries intend to join the PURL initiative – FM Sybiha

Seven more countries intend to join NATO’s initiative called PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) to purchase American weapons for Ukraine’s needs, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha has said.
"Today, we have six countries that have contributed specific amounts to fill it (the PURL-IF-U initiative), to continue the program. And as of today, we can talk about the intention of seven more countries to become participants with a specific contribution to this program," he said at a press conference with EU foreign policy chief Kaia Kallas in Kyiv on Monday.
Sybiha added that $2 billion has already been raised for the first package within the PURL.
"And the first package of this program is already under implementation," the minister added.
PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) is an initiative to purchase American weapons for Ukraine's needs, created jointly by NATO and the United States. The initiative was launched in August this year. The first package was financed by the Netherlands for $578 million, the second by Denmark, Norway and Sweden for $495 million, the third by Germany for $500 million. The fourth package was announced by Canada for $500 million.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the supply of the first two packages began in mid-September. In addition, the United States then finalized the filling of the third and fourth packages with Canada and Germany.
