The European Solidarity Party (Eurosolidarity) has issued a statement on the unacceptability of the published 28-point US-Russian plan to end the war in Ukraine and criticized the Ukrainian negotiating team that traveled to Switzerland on Sunday.

"The Russian plan is unacceptable in any form. The Ukrainian peace plan must be joint with Europe, agreed with the allies, built on the principles of international law and on those red lines that are not subject to negotiation - our territories, our army, our language, our faith, our freedom," the statement published on the political force's website on Sunday reads.

Eurosolidarity emphasizes that now is a moment when history does not allow mistakes, and "every word, every gesture of the Ukrainian state is now being read by the world under a microscope." "That is why it is necessary to say frankly and diplomatically clearly: the so-called 28 points that have appeared in the media look like a well-thought-out trap. And the trap is not just technical or procedural - it is a political, geopolitical, and most importantly - Russian trap. This is visible to the naked eye to anyone who is able to measure the risks," the political force emphasizes.

The composition of the negotiating team from Ukraine, which on Sunday takes part in negotiations in Switzerland with representatives of partner countries, is criticized in Eurosolidarity due to the fact that some of its participants are persons involved in the investigation of corruption in the energy sector and this may affect its reputation.

"Today, we are represented there by people who appear in the high-profile materials of the "Mindich tapes" - in a case that has become a symbol of how corruption tries to survive even during a major war. This significantly weakens Ukraine's position at a time when we need firmness, transparency and an impeccable reputation from each member of the delegation. It seems that someone decided to use the negotiation process not to protect the country, but as a political umbrella to hide from responsibility. These things cannot be mixed up... Negotiations should be conducted by strong, experienced, impeccably trusted negotiators," the statement says.

The party notes that the negotiations should take place with the participation of European partners and without any presence of persons tainted by corruption scandals.

"Today we ask the world to be on the side of democratic values. But in order for the world to hear us, we ourselves must demonstrate impeccable commitment to these values. This is the only way to a strong position in the negotiations," Eurosolidarity emphasizes.

As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has formed a delegation to participate in the negotiation process with the United States of America and other international partners of Ukraine, as well as with representatives of the Russian Federation. The delegation will be headed by the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak. The corresponding decree was posted on the president's website.

The delegation includes nine high-ranking officials, including the head of the delegation - the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov. As well as the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov, the Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Oleh Ivashchenko, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Serhiy Kyslytsia, the First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Yevheniy Ostryansky, the Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Oleksandr Poklad, the Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleksandr Bevz.

In turn, CNN, relying on the words of a senior American official, reported that US Secretary of the Land Forces Dan Driscoll and his team landed in Geneva on Saturday, where they will hold meetings with senior Ukrainian officials to discuss further steps towards peace. According to the publication, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will join the talks in Geneva on Sunday.

Earlier on Sunday, Yermak also announced the start of work in Geneva at the head of the Ukrainian delegation. "I held the first meeting with the national security advisers of the leaders of Great Britain, France and Germany: Jonathan Powell, Emmanuel Bonn, Gunter Sauter. The next meeting is with the US delegation. We are very constructively disposed," he wrote on Telegram. Zelensky also reported on the meeting of the Ukrainian team with the teams of partner countries to work on ending the war and expressed hope for its effectiveness. "It is good that diplomacy has been activated and that the conversation can be constructive. The Ukrainian and American teams, the teams of our European partners are in close contact, and I really hope that there will be a result," he said.
