As a result of a massive missile and drone attack on January 20, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant completely lost its external power supply, and electrical substations that are important for the nuclear safety of Ukrainian nuclear power plants were also damaged, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported, citing the agency's Director General Rafael Grossi.
" Several Ukrainian electrical substations vital for nuclear safety were affected by widespread military activity this morning," the IAEA reported on the X social network on Tuesday.
In addition, according to its information, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant completely lost all external power supply.
"The Chernobyl nuclear power plant lost all external power supply, and power transmission lines to other nuclear power plants were also damaged," the post says.
According to Grossi, the IAEA is actively monitoring the development of events to assess their impact on nuclear safety.
