In Chernivtsi, URCS, Emergency Service conducting drills to rescue people during floods
Joint exercises of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) and the State Emergency Service to rescue people during floods took place in Chernivtsi.
"Joint exercises of the Ukrainian Red Cross and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine took place in Chernivtsi … On the Prut River, in conditions as close to real as possible, volunteers of the rapid response unit of the Ukrainian Red Cross of Chernivtsi region, rescuers of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Chernivtsi region, doctors, representatives of the National Police of Ukraine practiced actions in emergency situations related to raising the water level," the URCS reported on its Facebook page on Tuesday.
The exercises were held in three stages: monitoring, forecasting and dynamics of the development of an emergency situation related to floods in the region; rescue of victims by various methods and means during flooding and liquidation of flood consequences.
Twelve volunteers of the rapid response unit, two specialists in the field of psychosocial support took part in the exercises from the URCS, three units of vehicles were also involved.
