In Kharkiv direction, enemy trying to gain foothold on achieved line, regrouping – General Staff
In the Vovchansk area, units of the Defense Forces are identifying enemy groups in order to prevent them from consolidating in the northern part of the city, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports the situation as of 11:30 Wednesday.
"In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy has not carried out active operations since the beginning of the day, he is trying to gain a foothold on the achieved line and is regrouping," the General Staff said in a Facebook message.
It is reported that Ukrainian units "with the help of reconnaissance means identify individual enemy groups, the location of the deployment of their artillery weapons and inflict fire damage in order to prevent the enemy from accumulating forces and means in the northern part of the city of Vovchansk."
"In addition," the General Staff reports, "our units continue to search urban areas. Under the fire control of Ukrainian artillery and unmanned systems, there are places where Russian occupiers' manpower and equipment are concentrated and possible places for equipping enemy positions."
In total, since the beginning of the enemy's offensive operations in the Kharkiv direction on May 10, the losses in manpower of the Russian occupiers amount to 615 killed and wounded, and 98 units of weapons and military equipment were destroyed or damaged.
