Romania, Greece and Bulgaria to create corridor for rapid movement of troops to east

1 min read

The defense ministers of Romania, Greece and Bulgaria signed an agreement on the intention to create a corridor for the rapid movement of military personnel and weapons to the eastern flank of NATO, the Romanian Ministry of Defense said on its website on Thursday.

"The project aims to strengthen transport corridors by creating specific routes between participating states to meet the requirements of military mobility," the ministry said in a statement. It is noted that this will reduce the level of bureaucracy in peacetime and maximize efficiency in emergency and crisis situations.

The document was signed during the NATO summit in Washington.
