Commercial port in Leningrad region hit by SBU drones – source
Long-range drones of the Security Service of Ukraine have covered more than 900 km and successfully hit a target in the commercial port of Ust-Luga in Leningrad region, a source from the SBU told Interfax-Ukraine.
"The attack on the largest commercial port in Russia, Ust-Luga in Leningrad region, is the work of the SBU... On January 4, long-range drones of the Security Service covered more than 900 kilometers, flew almost to St. Petersburg and successfully hit a target," the source said.
According to him, the video shows how one of the drones hits containers with gas condensate.
"As a result of the strike, one tank was severely damaged, and three adjacent ones were cut by debris from the explosion. Experts say that the repairs will take at least a month if materials are available and will definitely lead to interruptions in the terminal's operation," the agency's interlocutor added.
He also added that the Ust-Luga terminal is a large logistics hub in the Baltic Sea - through it, the Russian Federation sells oil and gas using a shadow fleet.
"Drone sanctions from the SBU reduce the inflow of foreign currency, which is necessary for waging war. We declare the 2025 'bavovna' season open!" the agency's interlocutor added.
