The State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Prosecutor General's Office have exposed Ruslan Maghamedrasulov, one of the heads of the interregional departments of National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) detectives, as conducting business in the Russian Federation.

"According to the case materials, this high-ranking official, stationed in the city of Dnipro, coordinates the activities of the Bureau in the front-line regions of Ukraine (Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia), while having contacts with representatives of the aggressor country and helping his father, an entrepreneur, conduct illegal trade with Russia," the SBU said in a telegram message on Monday.

As the investigation established, he acted as an intermediary in the sale of his father's batches of technical hemp to the Russian Federation (Republic of Dagestan).

Information is also being checked regarding Maghamedrasulov's contacts with Russian special services and the transfer of secret information to them, in particular regarding planned investigative actions.

"According to the investigation, this high-ranking official of the Bureau was in close contact with the fugitive MP from the banned party Opposition Platform — For Life Fedor Khrystenko, who is connected to the Russian special services and, as the investigation has established, has a significant influence on the activities of the NABU, which will be reported separately," the report says.

During the pre-trial investigation, it was also established that Maghamedrasulov's father, Sentyabr Maghamedrasulov, has Russian citizenship, but the high-ranking NABU official did not indicate this fact when applying for access to state secrets, thereby violating the law.

As for the suspect's mother, Irina Maghamedrasulova, she lives in Kyiv, but receives a pension from the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic" and publishes pro-Russian comments on social networks, in particular in groups with Z-symbols. The SBU has evidence that in conversations she actively supports Putin's war against Ukraine and justifies Russian war crimes.

"Despite the fact that as one of the heads of the interregional department of NABU detectives, Ruslan Maghamedrasulov was supposed to be stationed in the city of Dnipro and be responsible for work in front-line regions, he was almost constantly in Kyiv, and also recently returned from an elite vacation on the island of Tenerife, where he spent several weeks," the special service said.

The issue of reporting a high-ranking official of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau on suspicion under Article 111-2 (aiding an aggressor state) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is currently being resolved.

Comprehensive measures are being taken to clarify all the circumstances of the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The Prosecutor General's Office is responsible for the procedural management.

Earlier on Monday, NABU confirmed that its employees are being searched.

"On July 21, NABU employees were subjected to investigative actions without court orders, which were carried out by employees of the SBU and the Prosecutor General's Office. We are currently clarifying all the circumstances. Details will be provided later," the NABU reported.

Citing sources in the SBU, it was reported that (the SBU and the Prosecutor General's Office are conducting a special operation to neutralize Russian influence on NABU.
