Cabinet launches competition for development of lithium deposit Dobra in Kirovohrad region – Svyrydenko
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine launches competition for conclusion of a production sharing agreement at the lithium deposit Dobra (Kirovohrad region), Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported.
"We held an extraordinary meeting of the government on a business trip. We made an important decision for the development of the mineral sector and attracting investment in Ukraine. Competition at the Dobra site. We are launching a competition for conclusion of a production sharing agreement in Kirovohrad region. The site contains significant reserves of lithium, which is of strategic importance for energy and technology," Svyrydenko wrote on the Telegram channel.
According to her, the government is waiting for an investor who will ensure not only production, but also the development of value-added industries in Ukraine.
"The next steps are publishing an announcement within two months, three months for accepting applications, then determining the winner," the prime minister said.
Earlier, the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, said that the development of the Dobra lithium deposit could become the first project within the framework of cooperation with the United States. "Ukraine is preparing to announce a competition for the development of the Dobra lithium deposit in Kirovohrad region. This could become the first project within the framework of cooperation with the United States," Yermak wrote on the Telegram channel on June 19.
