On Tues night, Russia launches seventh attack on Ukrainian gas facilities, damaging Poltava region infrastructure – head of Naftogaz
On October 28, Ukraine experienced Russia’s seventh attack on gas infrastructure since the beginning of October. As a result, production capacities in Poltava region were damaged, said Serhiy Koretsky, Chairman of NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy.
"The seventh attack in October occurred tonight. Gas production capacities in Poltava region were damaged. We will make every effort to restore the equipment as soon as possible," Koretsky said during a briefing at Ukrinform on Tuesday.
He noted that the previous six attacks in October caused significant destruction and loss of production, leading to the need for additional gas imports.
He later added that, for the autumn-winter period to be implemented sustainably, an additional 4.1 billion cubic meters of gas must be imported by the end of the year.
