Ukraine Red Cross Society – 13 million cases of support
On August 19, the world celebrates International Humanitarian Aid Day – a day of gratitude to those who, risking their own lives, help others in the most difficult circumstances. It is about courage, dedication and the power of humanity.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) has supported over 13 million Ukrainians.
Volunteers and staff work every day in frontline communities and throughout the country – even during shelling and in conditions of constant danger.
Gratitude to every volunteer and staff of the URCS, Movement partners and colleagues from other humanitarian organizations – for their dedication, courage and daily work that saves lives.
Humanity and humanity know no borders – this has been proven by joint efforts.
URCS is the largest humanitarian organization in Ukraine, which has been providing comprehensive humanitarian assistance and support to the most vulnerable segments of the population for over a hundred years. URCS carries out its humanitarian activities throughout the country: 24 regional and almost 200 district organizations, in which more than 8,000 volunteers provide assistance and support to the population every day.
The International Committee of the Red Cross recognized URCS as a national Red Cross society on September 29, 1993, and by the decision of the IX session of the General Assembly of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, URCS was accepted as a collective member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
URCS carries out its humanitarian activities in close cooperation and collaboration with state authorities and local governments, public organizations, the corporate sector, as well as partners and colleagues in the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
